Came home from work today to find a cabbie had somehow driven off the shallow embankment at the edge of our driveway  On top of this, my uncle had tried to recover him with his 2wd ute which he managed to bog wedged up against a small tree next to the cab :p Land Rover saves the day once again. :D

I honestly don't know what was worse, the cabbie driving off the edge, or uncles dodgy attempt at recovery with the use of a 2wd ute and a length of 8mm steel rope wraped around the tow ball

V8ian: He could not speak english that well. We think he might have been one of the dodgy licence swaping cabbies, apparently he refused to call the cab company when he got stuck and wanted my uncle to get him out.

Defenderzook: I am kicking myself that i didn't charge him for the recovery, could have made a bit out of it due to his reluctance to call the company. My uncle was peeved he had already paid the cabbie for the trip just prior to him geting bogged. Actualy thinking of sending a bill to the cab company to repair the damage to the lawn :D

I was at the airport a couple of weeks ago, at least a dozen cab "drivers" were standing round jibbering in a strange lingo.

The last time I got a cab from Perth airport he told me it had been estimated that 85% of drivers (!!!) were foreign born.
And they're constantly catching drivers who are using their mates licences to earn a bit extra on top of their benefits......

ID have left him there for about an hour and then offered him a $100 Recovery provided he signed of on a damage protection agreement then billed the company for a new snatch strap, shackle and turf repairs.
