Does anyone know if you can retrieve DTC codes ,from a Puma, without using a scan tool. On my old Jackaroo you could bridge 2 pins in the scan tool socket and the engine fault light would flash, corresponding with the fault code numbers in the worshop manual.I dont have a problem with the vehicle, just trying to find out for future reference.

To the best of my knowledge no. You can use a CANbus compliant OBDII scan tool to read the Engine ECU's DTC's (P codes) but this won't interface to the BCU (don't know if it does much), Wabco-D or the Lucas10AS alarm units which are also on the bus.

A ScanGaugeII will show you the DTC's if the MIL light has come on but usually won't show any codes otherwise.

The Blackbox Solutions system is supposed to be able to interface to all units but no-ones given me a definitive yes or no on this. I know initially it had issues.
