and they are asking $ 18000 for this trailer which is made using the tub of a ute

I think that I have to look into my trailer based on a LWB tub and a canopy with more respect. :o
I have been thiking in adding a roofrack and a tent on it for long time and now I am going to look at it more seriously!

This is the 2010 Kimberley Konvertible

I've saw a couple of months ago brand new ute tubs like these on Grays Auctions that have come off of new Police vehicles in their dozens going for on average about $50 to $100 each.

Kind of makes it hard to swallow that they could be the basis of a $18,000 camper trailer.

cheers,
Terry

The Tub is the cheap bit.
For example with my trailer.
Off-Road HD springs,off-road hitch,electric brakes,etc etc etc,diy build(normal style boxtop)
$4500 materials only.
Extra large tent,$4500.
Genset $2000
Solarpanels/wiring $1000.
More to come as I havent finished building it.
Not defending the retail price of their trailer, just pointing out it is expensive to own or build these toys.

it is certainly an improvement on 1,000,001 ways yet again to put a tent on a bog standard 6x4 /7x4/etc box trailer and call it an original idea and ask upwards of $10,000...

I would like to see one with a pod for a 100L turtle pac collapsible long range fuel tank (as used in long ferry stages in light aircraft)... a lot safer than multiple jerry cans...for long range expeditions...

A Sth African Conquerer camper went on EBay a couple of weeks ago for $9k in Brisbane...brilliant, damn I missed it!!!

Kimberly are very exxy for what you get, at the caulfield caravan and camping show last year they had a site across from my folks, there top of the range camper trailer was $83,000, who would pay that for a trailer and a tent with some led lights in it:(. You could build 4 or 5 for that price
