Just thought i would share my engine that i had built . It's my first engine i have built on my own with no help . I'm pretty happy with myself with the end result . Here's a video :D:twisted::twisted::cool: .....

its a great experience every time.

that last moment of "did I do it all right" just before you turn the key

that nag of doubt when you hear the first unfired compression stroke wind off

the fret of "is that ticking noise the lifters oiling up or the sign of something worse to come."

the elation when it just sits there idling just begging you "go on, snap the butterfly, you know you want to."

I tell ya Dave . My heart was in my throat just before the first hit of the key. But when it fired and idled I couldn't get the grin off my face .

And from here on your confidence will grow. Job well done and if ever in doubt, Landy's aren't strictly a religion on here so don't be afraid to ask about other makes.

I built this for my missus to putt around in when she's not driving the D2.
'69 LC GTR, stroked 308, Supra 5spd and salisbury LSD.

So, when the Tdi chucks it in.....you know where that engine is going to end up:twisted:

Marks make adapters Holden V8 to R380:cool:

It'd sound good maxxed out on Stockton dunes with a twin 2.5" system:D:D

Thanks mate . I'll get this old girl finished first . Later on i want to get an HR holden and restore it to show room condition . Love the HR's

It's the Gilmer drive causing the noise . I went with a double row timing chain instead of straight cut gears .

Sounds awesome i love holden 5ltrs.the clips on your plug leads are they plastic or metal i had the metal ones & after a while they started to cause a short between the leads replaced them with plastic ones & was fine after..
GREAT work i love the sound of it..
