How was that photo taken?

Rules..

You can submit a maximum of two pictures.
Each picture must make the rest of us think: How was it taken?
Minimal post processing is allowed.
Each picture must be taken since the start of the 2010.
See here for the general rules (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/camera-corner/82504-photo-comp-rules.html).

So get out there and be creative!

P.S. If you do something really special, take a picture of the setup so we can all see how it was done. But don't post this picture or how you took the shot until after the comp ends

Perhaps you have to elaborate a bit more :(

I dont think he needs to...you be creative with a photo that you have taken so much so that people go "oh cool how did you do that?".
bit like when I did the torch on a string

Ah! that type of how it was done......sorry I was concentrated on the technical aspects of photography like manual program or apreture, lens, flash settings, etc, etc
Cheers

Perhaps you have to elaborate a bit more :(
It could be as simple as motion blur, long exposure, star trails, fish-eye, taken from a strange location or something completely out of the ordinary.

For example (not my entry to the competition):

Be creative, try something different, experiment. This is another reason I specified minimal post processing because it's very easy to end up with something like this (not my entry to the competition):

So think about it, reach for the camera and use your imagination and push the shutter release!

No just enough to buy Photoshop and a GSP. If I had that many GSP's in my yard I'd have gone round the twist long ago.

Rain forest fruit. Main Range NP last Sunday.
Post processing was a crop and the background.

I had all kinds of ideas for this them and now have no motivation for anything. This last week has been terrible for me so I suppose a very ordinary image about sums it up. Mightn't participate too much for a while, will see how things go.

Damn. Sorry I forgot to vote. I've been a bit busy recently and it just came and went so fast.

So did anyone want to have a guess how it was done before I explain it?

dmdigital

3 shot using 3 positions on the zoom lens and multi-exposure with your fancy flash.

werdan
10th March 2010, 07:27 PM
Nope.

Well the flash bit was correct. :)

dmdigital

Did you cheat and use layer stacking to merge 3 images?

OK, you'd better en-"lighten" us?

werdan

You were close.

I set the shutter speed to 4sec exposure with a medium aperture, the flash to a 1Hz strobe at 1/16 power and then rolled diagonally backwards on a wheeled desk chair while holding the flash test button.

dmdigital

I was going to say strobe flash but thought it wouldn't have given enough time. You must be quick on that chair;)
