For a pre-purchase inspection on a 300tdi.

Seems like a fair drive for someone to make from Port Macquarie (about 1.5 hrs) or Newcastle (over 2 hrs) so I dont like my chances at finding the right person.

any recommendations ?

thx

Modern Motors at Dungog are closest that I know of. But then I don't know the Forster area very well.

I to was in a similar predicament as you when I purchased my Discovery TD5 back in late 2000. I had just moved from the central coast to Taree area and found to my amazement that the nearest Land rover service agent was either Newcastle (where I purchased) or to drive 1.5 hrs up to port Macquarie. So for the next 5 years I made the trek to port and had to amuse myself for the day, whilst the vehicle was being serviced. I'm afraid that Forster has no LR specialists as does Taree (large town). When I moved here there was only one other late model discovery like mine in the whole area! I am over whelmed by Toyota's and the like, I'm sure if there were a Pukka Land-Rover dealer in Taree, there would me more Landies around and about. The local service garages know nothing about land-rovers and don't seem to care either. If I had know the state of lack of agents in the area I probably would not have bought a Land rover and would be driving a Toyota (sic) So the bottom line is think very carefully before going down the path of becoming a land-rover owner in the Midd north coast of new south Wales.

Bit of a problem, both Dungog and Bellingen I think would be too far from where the vehicle is. I might have to go for a Stateroads/NRMA inspection, at least get it inspected before I think about doing an 8 hour round trip from where I am.
