Being as I own a bitser land rover/ranger rover and I`m having a whinge, I`m not sure as where to post,so here for starters :) Just a couple of weeks ago the driver side front shocker mount broke of from the spring tower. After inspecting the broken mount it was evident that this had happened before and was crudely repaired. The mount is a piece of 50mm box tube with a shocker mount bolted to it.No problems made a new mount and welded it in.Naturally me being me I checked after I fully welded the mount in to see if it was the same height as the other side.As Homer would say doh and even bigger doh  Drivers side was lower, even though it was a exact copy of the one that fell off.So as I expected my newly fitted mount also broke of not long after when the shocker bottomed out.So this time I made it the same length as the other side and welded it all in.Sweet I thought. Will hit the bump stop well before the bottom of the shocker stroke. Then ( yes there is a Doh moment coming) I noticed why the mount was lower. The brake master cylinder would foul with the shocker body when it was in full flex.Bugger and a indication of a sus build.Have a had a think and scratch of the navel and will be able to get around it,just.Keeping the shocker mount lower was certainly a dogey quick fix and not good enough.Considering with a bit of noodle scratching there is a answer.I realise that you take these things as they come considering the budget price of the ute,but had hoped for a bit better than this.

Well, I'm surprised about that. I've been out off road with that LR before & it's just a weapon so a weak damper mount sounds a bit strange.

With the suspension being virtually hand built, there's always going to be differences somewhere along the lines for some reason or another.
