So Ive decided to get back into 4wdriving after a nearly 20 year Hiatus .
Ive bought a real nice 1988 hi-line , for $866.36 on Fleabay , and just bought a complete rear diff with all the Maxi-drive fruit for $1300 .
Now , what Im going to do for suspension kit ?, Im going to start with 265/75R16's and then perhaps go to my specially made 15 x 8 Cheviots with 33 x 12.50's . So perhaps a 2inch body lift with Springs to suit . Does this mean I need 4 inch longer relaxed length springs ? I used to machine the spin housing to correct the King pins , is that still done thesedays ? I see offset Radiuas rod bushes , angled radius rods etc etc , what works the best ? I also used to use the rangie spares retainer straps inside the springs , is there a better or smarter way of not popping springs , also used to rip the top a few Bilsteins back then , obviously didnt have the spring length, shocker travel right !!(actually it was rock damage to the body of trailing shock every time LOL)
