i saw something strange today and i just had to tell someone.......

i was driving through engadine today......and i saw an old land cruiser.....with some sort of strange tub.......
it almost looked like it was a boat.......or part of a blood box......and right in the centre of it all......

right in the middle of the back of it.........was a land rover badge.......

i was very confused.......the truck looked like it was purpose built......a long time ago.....
it was well set up for country or bush or some sort of work......

it looked like a genuine bush car..........

thats all.....just wanted to share.......

and no......i didnt take any pics........only mental ones......sorry.....

sounds like that old bloke who shared Baz's fire at Cooma, did it look like a very beat up 40 series front with a Land Rover special vehicle sign on the back?

yep.......
i think it may even have been some type of drab green colour.......

it looked like a beat up 40 series.....but what i saw just looked old......not battered or damaged.........

and i think the tub may have been made out of timber.......

Saw it going south through FairyMeadow, comming home from work yesterday arvo. Had a yellow bonnet. Looked like it was madeup of a few different vehicles. Reminded me of The Affrican Queen with all the stuff hanging off it... strange.......Mark

Yep that's the one from Cooma, it's a FJ55 series base, runs on vegie oil.

The back is a camper body, at Cooma he told us a story about going to the Cape and back on $39:eek:

Aparently he used to race Land Rovers with Thomas's (TJS-70Y) Father.

Baz.

MickS and Defenderzook, where are you guys located. I'm in Engadine and been in the shire since '61 - getting old now. There's also Martyn (Chatterbox? and Numpty's missus's brother) from Heathcote East. Would be good to meet up some time
cheers Gerald

Sorry Bushie, I've got a mind like a sieve. Teflon coated - nothing sticks! Oh but hang on there's chatterbox underneath Bushie on your call sign or whatever we call it!!! that's where I got it from!! ahah knew I wasn't as mad as the kids keep telling me I am! Enjoyed our chat a while back and again, would love to have a beer and a chat. My shout! btw, I feel like a right rude git for not calling you back since - sincere apologies!
I just said to my missus tonight how I'd love to do some outback touring so would love to pick ya brains on that and what you took for spares, tools, where ya went, etc. not that I'm going anytime soon. can you pm me your phone no? cos you called me last time and I didn't get it. Perhaps Defenderzook would like to join us maybe at Menai pub or sutho or somewhere suitable or even for a cuppa tea or whatever. Not trying to turn anyone into an alco!!
cheers Gerald
