Just wondering where people fit guages to their D2 cabin. I have a volt meter i want to install in the dash somewhere but cant find a suitable place. Any pics of similar standard size (52mm) gauges installed around the dash of a D2 please. Depending on the look may get more gauges but for now i have the volt metre as a starter. cheers ;)

If you are looking at different info,, why not get a madman or similar? volts, temp, etc and a safety item to boot.
and it fits just nice down in front of the low range selector,,

I bought a console pod which mounts in middle of dash over pencil tray. I've installed CB and battery gauge. You could put a range of gauges and other items there. See Car Consoles & 4WD Storage Drawers - Department of the Interior - overhead consoles, roof consoles, custom built consoles, 4WD interiors, dashboard restorations, storage systems, vehicle consoles, radio console, dashboard repairs, dashboard pod, four (http://www.consoles.com.au/Rover_Land99_pods.htm).

You could use a Mudpod.

Looking at the website they are for defers,
is the pod in your pic a defender pod in a disco or is it disco specific?

Or...like this. Slightly in your line of vision to check the numbers and much cheaper to buy, particularly if you are to expand your monitoring.

How have you wired the madman in? I cannot see a lead?

The lead comes in from the bottom and connects to the Madman.
To access the area I removed the radio and there is enough room to run the Madman loom between the air ducting and the radio. With a bit of a wiggle the radio slid in. A hole was drilled down from the top and the rubber insert has been cut to suit. If the car was to be returned to standard all I have to do is remove the Madman & replace the rubber insert with a new one. It will all be hidden from view.
