Not sure if its a new noise, or if I have never noticed it before, but lately when shutting off my 130 I can hear a faint deep whir that slows to nothing (if that makes sense)
Im probly just being a noob here but what is this?

Actually if you can't hear the filter run down on the TD5, you probably have a poorly performing filter. One reason why I only buy genuine centrifical filters.

That must mean that the Bearmach filters are REALLY good then, because they are way louder than the genuine :D

I was actually told that you should be able to hear them spin down, because that is the point of a centrifugal filter in that they spin. If you can not then there is a problem and it is probablly jamming against the housing. I only use genuine and every genuine one I have used you can hear spin down. A couple of the aftermarket ones I could not hear spin down.

I am used to the sound of the "wind down" on turning the motor off, and after a dealer service, came home to find a scraping sound on wind down. Took it back, and they replaced it with a new one. Apparently the tolerances are very tight on them. If any unusual noise is present, time to change.
Cheers,
Ken
