Hi Guys,

Since I now have a Rangie all rocking - I keep looking for a forum or sub forum here where locals in each state catch up for a day trip of 4WD'ing or a weekend.

Thus far I have found none :(

Being new to off road I have been out now 3 times & have learnt a little... but - apart from knowledge I joined up here with hope to do a few day trips & what not with like minded peoples.

So am I missing the sub forum or does it just not happen??

The Up Coming Events seems to be for really big aulro events - and there is trip suggestions & prep... or do I find a "club"?

Your not looking hard enough;)
Trips Tracks and Schedules - Australian Land Rover Owners (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/trips-tracks-schedules/)

There are heaps of day trips in there, or just arrange one yourself:D

If you're keen for a day trip, just post up your interest in the Trips/Reports area. Even if you can't arrange yourself (i know i couldn't!) there'll be plenty of suggestions/input from others.

I think a lot of smaller day trips, where it might be one person off here with their mates, doesn't get posted up. But if you show interest im sure most weekends there's small groups out and about you could join up with.

Could also check out the Trips/Tracks section at www.outerlimits4x4.com i see a lot of day-trip, looking for interest, type threads there. You'd just have to hang around Poocruiser/Poolux/Pootrol drivers all day :p

I'll be very keen for a day out sometime soon. This weekend the new lift kit and tyres are going on, so will need to Christen them :D

You should consider joining Land Rover Owners Club of Victoria.

I am a member and it is a great club.

:D

Thanks Redback - I thought it was for major events only :) Now I know better - I better go & post something up. I used to setup rides all the time when I had my road bike - so I'll post up ideas & see what happens :) :D

robzilla, rangieman, SPRover - anytime!! In fact... I am trying to get something sorted for this long weekend - Sunday seems to be the go for a play up at Toolangi maybe? Starting to get to know that area a little but I am up for anything really :)

I'll go post up something now! :) Plus - I wouldn't mind getting to meet some of you wonderful gents whom helped when I tried to rebuild the 89 Rangie.

Its something I have to think about there - when I had the Hayabusa I was a member of the Aus wide club & there were no fee's - just like minded people which I would think is here :)

Driver training is something I want to do soon but seems 4WD clubs must follow lots of rules as well. which can be good or bad :)

If you join the LR club they subsidize driver training.

My wife and I did the training last Dec and it cost us $60 each.

yeah but whats the cost of joining then the cost per year? does it really weigh up?

Plus - I doubt I would like to drive with a 4wd club that is so well marketed - going with people you meet from the likes of here is a little different - I would imagine 4WD club trips to be fairly strict & lots of people so lots of time wasted or other wise waiting for the 10 other cars?? lol (Yes I am having a dig lol )

Would have to try it out first ;) if they allow it - like come on a trip or something first :)
