I watched the whole thing on catch up. I liked it.

Anyone else spot the Landy in it?

After watching the double episode screening on the first night, I couldn't wait to see the rest of the episodes, so I watched them two at a time in Iview.

Getting through all the episodes in a few days works better for those of us who have trouble remembering the details of the first episode if we have to wait a month to get to the last episode.

I have realised that what I earlier called the Pentecost Range is actually the Cockburn Range, but I think the river near there on the Gibb River Road is the Pentecost.

    Terrific movie and series.
Well done to the ABC for producing a viewing experience the opposite of the formulaic 'reality' rubbish on the commercial channels.

Somehow missed 'Goldstone', must check it out.

I enjoyed the series but......... Judy Davis was so miscast. That was very poor acting on her behalf and I also thought Aaron Pederson, who I admire, overdid the tough bloke stuff. Mind you, the two young aboriginal girls who played the supporting roles were great.

I previously mentioned that after the original Mystery Road Movie, and before the production of this series there was another movie "Goldstone", which is part of Jay's "story", and it is, like the current series, excellent. Anyone enjoying the current series needs to watch it.
I'm saying this because I've just noticed that "Goldstone" is screening on the ABC, in Melbourne anyway, at 11.00pm Sunday night 1St July, you need to watch it if you're enjoying Mystery Road.

i'm only referring to mystery road the film. i went and rewatched it last night.
its a slow film, mainly the dialog. probably typical of queenslanders. generally good story, only 1 plot hole. i think it did capture the outback well.
in the real world jay would of been stood down and kicked off the force for his actions and getting a fellow officer killed.

Got back to Oz yesterday and i’m having an iView binge now, since I couldn’t access it in Africa. (Yes I could have used a VPN to get around it but poor bandwidth there killed that).

Up to episode 4 and loving the Kimberly scenery, Wyndham and Kununurra.

Nice that it’s more Australian now than “American Western” of the movies.

    cheers

On the subject of SE Qld the ABC Show "Harrow" is filmed in Brisbane and surrounds Harrow (TV series) - Wikipedia it uses the old Brisbane Dental Hospital as the pathologist's base and the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) Playhouse Theatre as the Police HQ and Courthouse. They actually left the Playhouse sign up in one of the shots ln last weeks show, and then removed it later but the glue squiggle can still be seen. Continuity is very important in filming and they take a lot of time and trouble to get it right. I've seen the "Croc Dundee" bar at Movie World and all the stuff is actually glued down on the counter, so that the glasses, bottle tops, etc don't move between takes.
