    Detectorists

A dry comedy well worth watching.
Catch up on iview ( it’s up to episode 4). You’ll find it on ABC Comedy.

A bit slow to start off but once you understand the characters there are a lot of laughs.

Based around a couple of guys who go out metal detecting.

Series 1, 2 and the Christmas Special are on Netflix.
JB Hi Fi have a special on boxed sets and Detectorists is available.

For those that are old enough to remember The Avengers....
Diana Riggs daughter plays Becky and Diana Rigg appears as her Mum.

Lots of laughs, a lot of running gags and well worth watching.

It's worth watching just for the mad farmer, he's a crack up!

He's also the reason I bought a Land Rover. I saw his Defender on the show and was suddenly struck by them, couldn't get it over the line with the Mrs. though so compromised with a Disco 4. Had it a month now, loving it.

    "what you got?"
    "Ring-pull. Tizer. 1982"

The in-laws got us into this when they were over last Christmas, ended up getting the box sets from JB. Watching it again now on iView!

There are a few jokes based around things/people from the UK which may not be understood here.

For example the 'Jim Fixed it for Me' badge. Look up Jimmy Savile, he had had a program called Jim'll Fix It. When he died a few skeletons came out of the closet........

Difficult to come up with a 'best line' or 'best joke".
"Where's the finds table"......"we can't find it" rates along with Lance's display of 'ring pulls through the ages'.
The running gags around Simon & Garfunkel and the song titles Lance & Andy manage to get into the conversation are brilliant. When the Police ask for their names they are Peters & Lee (a British folk/pop duo from way back).

Series 3 was as good if not better than 1 or 2. Shout out if you need a copy.......
