I remember watching the blue county and actually watching these films from Malcolm Douglas began my love affair with Landrover.
I wounder what ever happened to the Blue County?
Guys....
I accidentally came across this Youtube channel that looks like it has uploaded all the old episodes of Malcolm Douglas' Documentaries. I grew up watching these Shows on TV and loved them. I reckon that is where I got my desire to travel around this country whenever the opportunity arose.... Anyhow the YouTube site is called "Nature Diary" - see below:
Malcolm Douglas Documentaries
Not sure if this has been posted before, but I was excited as it gives me something of interest to watch instead of the crappy TV Shows that are on Free to Air these days....
Plus, it's got some footage of his old County.... There's one episode that states that his County was carrying 600ltrs of Fuel along the Canning Stock Route
I didn't realise that the county's had a slightly different dash setup either..... very nice

Many yeras ago a mate of mine owned a Quintrex tinny that had belonged to Malcolm
If a recall correctly it has a large Ampol logo on the sides
Malcolm Douglas was an old school explorer/bushman/seafarer and he was as tough as nails and his documentaries hold a wealth of information as well as being entertaining.
I Love watching his video's and it was a sad day for Australia when this Man died.

Malcolm Douglas was a sage and a gentleman. I met him in Broome many years ago whilst living there. His films are testament to an era which valued the slow considered journey and making time to really understand the beautiful and compelling diversity of this continent without the ridiculous contemporary pressures we now face - including being on call via technology 24/7. Thankfully some of the places he journeyed through still have no mobile network, but that’s changing rapidly. I’m thankful to have met him and also for the significant time I was able to spend travelling across this continent before such time as being a luddite became a disability.
Cheers
Great find!
My mates and I met Malcolm Douglas I think from memory back in 1989 at his crocodile farm Broome. We had spent 2 weeks out in central Aust and was coming back home via Broome and called into the place. I vaguely remember we saw his 110 County in the car park and got a bit excited over it and he had a good laugh at our looks and smell from being out bush for 2 weeks and compared it to the smell of his crocs.
