Sci-Fi - What are you reading or watching

Watching Sargate Universe series again for prolly the 15th time over the years.

The book - The dark between the stars by Kevin J Anderson
Its the first book in the new series The saga of shadows which is the follow on from The saga of seven suns

The saga of seven suns is a epic sci-fi series, pretty heavy reading but will suit the hardcore sci-fi reader.

Reading - "The Sea peoples", S.M.Stirling, latest (14) in his 'Emberverse' series, also "The Massacre of Mankind", Stephen Baxter, a sequel to H.G. Wells "War of the Worlds" (allegedly authorised by his estate). Plus, of course, the latest issue of "Analog".

i thought SGU was a let down. I never finished the second season.

SG1 rates as one of my favourites. ass does TNG

star trek discovery i watched recently. was good but not very trecky.

altered carbon, both the book and tv show where good.

Both great books, I was lucky enough to meet William Gibson and got him to autograph my copy of Neuromancer.
Currently reading The transmigration of Timothy Archer, not science fiction but written by one of the greats Phillip K Dick.

Recently finished "Doomsday Book". History student travels back to 14th century 'plague' times to study the course of events there, as events in her own time overtake things due to an emerging flu pandemic leaving her stranded in the past. Centuries separate the 2 populations but the humanity and suffering of their common predicament is the same. There is a twist at the end of a religious nature. Recommended, a terrific read.

Currently reading 'Consider Phlebas' (Ian M Banks). Not too bad either so far. Tried reading 'Snow Crash', couldn't get into it.

I've been listening to Audiobooks lately and have just finished the 6 books in the Expeditionary Force series. It's about humans first interaction with aliens where the Earth is attacked by one race and send a human expeditionary force with another race to help in the galaxy's ongoing war. The main guy finds an "all knowing" artificial intelligence in the shape of a beer can and he is a bit of "A"hole. It's a bit goofy at times but a good listen.

I've also been watching the 12 Monkey's series on Netflix
