    Bathurst 2019

Starting Thursday, MASSES of Foxtel for me, virtual 100% coverage.
I always look forward to Bathurst going back to the late sixties Monaro days when the ch 7 telecast was supposed to be only interrupted for an hour by World of Sport with Ron Casey, Jack Dyer & co, but I remember on one occasion they waffled on for nearly 3 hrs,...but not now.
Not many fans on here I know, but I just love my Supercars,...who do I predict this year, well I reckon Whincup & Lowndes would be my pick at this stage,...I just think Red Bull may have a little bit more going for them over a long distance than Penske DJR?
And of course the big race is preceded for me, as usual, by my "Bathurst Big Breakfast", cooked by Wifey,..fried eggs, fried bread, sausages, fried potatoes, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms etc.....Only once a year though, otherwise I'd be 200+kilos I reckon!!
    Can't wait, Pickles.

    seems too short

Agree with Pickels 100% as some of us oldies remember the good old days--now seems to be getting a bit quick though due to car's speed--more like a supersprint and starting later --next year probably mid-day! Like to see race lengthened and start earlier --only my opinion. Agree the Holdens look good so maybe a Reynolds one again otherwise same winner all the time, even though I never competed in anything other than a Ford and Scotty is so good, but series needs more options re winners, maybe next year if Mostert goes with WAU!

    Bathurst 2019

I don’t watch much motor sport and don’t have foxtel.

If it happens to telecasted on free to air

    I like watching the shootout....

    First hour

    And last hour.

Oh took the defender for a run around the track a few weeks ago.....

Of course the Red Bull cars are favourites, but it is a bloody long day,and as we all know, one of the easiest races to lose.

Hopefully both cars don't have a common issue, which has happened a few times before, quite a few years back to some of the bigger teams, like HRT.

Bring it on,it will be a cracker for sure.

I have not watched it since it stopped being a production car event. It is now a silhouette series for hand built pure race cars. Virtually nothing on the cars has been made by the manufacturer whose name is on them.

I think the car speed over that distance between DJRTP with Scotty and Redbull with Jamie and SVG is going to be very very close, especially now that the commodores have been given another leg up which they didn't need for Bathurst. In the early days they would all put wing into it, these days they all take wing out of it which shows how much downforce they all get now.

I also think that driver speed between Scotty, Jamie and SVG is going to be very close, but I think that Scotty will be faster for qualifying and I think he will be the one to put it on pole.

Co-drivers, I really think Lowndes is the pick despite Tander still currently racing and where is Premat...

My pick, if its a no pace car, no smashes, no blow ups and every runs smoothly on a dry track, I think Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes.

Who would I like to see win.... I'd really love to see Scotty McLaughlin and Alex Premat get one under their belts.

Dark horse... Erebus with David Reynolds and Luke Youlden... maybe they're not a dark horse anymore. Also Chaz Mostert and James Moffat if Chaz doesn't destroy it or someone else. Maybe Fabs and Murph DJRTP but I think the Mustang setup has evolved away from what Fabs likes again and Murph will probably smash it anyway.

I really cant see anybody outside of these 6 cars.
    Cheers

That doesn't worry me, I love it for the motor racing! These are far better race cars than what they were when they were built from shells.
