    V8 Ute racing returns

The super ute crowd has finally confirmed the motor going into the Utes to replace the (boring) diesels. It may seem as a bit of a lifeline to Holden as I believe they are supplying the LS3 being used in all the utes. Interesting times (and hopefully larger grid numbers) ahead.

Maybe this category may have more chance of taking off?

Even the V8's are getting boring these days,it will only be 2 yrs, then the dunny dore will be gone.Yawn....

At least this newish category are vehicles that are sort of in showrooms, maybe not here, but somewhere in the world.

The rest of the "ute" is a purpose built race car.

Based on a production twincab available ( in standard form) from the relevant dealer.

I just meant that I personally prefer production car vehicles. Something that you can buy from a dealer - and drive on the road.

I’m just old fashioned “win on Sunday, buy on Monday”

Hence why I am no longer an avid follower of the “supercars”...

This would apply to almost every class of racing in motorsports except production car racing which came and went.

Yeah, would be better if it was Hilux V Ranger with some over fuelled souped up diesels in them.

An engine you can't buy locally without frigging around and importing one, hardly a 'Local' engine.
