What Make of Sports Car is Old Sporty

    Hello All,

I have been watching a couple of D3Sshooter's YouTube threads. There is a thread called "Old Sporty" which features work on getting an old sports car back on the road. I cannot find out what the make and model of the sports car is? Accessed December 25th 2019 from

Can anyone please identify the make, model and possible year of manufacture for "Old Sporty"?

D3Sshooter a.k.a. "Steve" also has a thread on the restoration of an old Citroen truck ... which was named "Old Rusty". Citroen Project U 23 Steve actually shows how such things as rust repair panels are made in the shed and fitted. Not a "magic hands" video. Each clip is a step-by-step approach. Very enjoyable to watch and good research matter for my future attempts at rust repairs.

Steve also has a clip - "Should you be buying a Land Rover Defender?"

As Steve does own and drive a Defender the answer must have been yes.... see these clips do fit into our club!

    Kind regards
    Lionel

I was going to say Caterham 7, but they didn't use the Ford Pinto engine and the Dax Rush did. As for the year, they were kit cars so it's anyone's guess.

Caterham! That's the other one I was thinking of. Thanks John.

    Hello All,

Thank you for your contributions. Ron (P38 Rover) was right on the money.

I went back to video one and it does mention that it is Dax Rush. At the time I did not know that this was the name of the manufacturer of the vehicle. It was written "This is part one of Old Sporty, a dax rush ." This included the error in capitalisation and the excessive spaces before the full stop. So my eyes skipped over it.

My apologies for not reading the description properly.

I just found another clip by the name of "Black Friday Project" and it mentions that the car is a "Dax Rush". The clip is about picking the car up from a friend's place where it sat for a decade. Accessed 26th December 2019 from, YouTube

    Kind regards
    Lionel

    It is a Dax Rush

    Hello All,

The new owner of the vehicle, "Steve" says that it is a Dax Rush kit car built between the early 1960s and 1970s that was then left sitting for 10 years before he became the latest owner. This comment was made at the 0:30 time mark of the YouTube clip accessed 26th December 2019 from, YouTube

The written information on the YouTube clip also states that "This video is about restoring or at least the beginning of a DAX RUSH OLDTIMER"; Steve's capitalisation by the way.

    Kind regards
    Lionel

    Hello Loan Rangie,

To answer your question... at the time of my first post I did not know what the vehicle was. With the assistance of other contributors I went back and I was able to confirm other people's welcomed input.

    Kind regards
    Lionel
