It's odd, weird even, but has some very funny moments.
Pearce Quigley (Russell in Detectorists) is the main character and Michael Palin is his father.
He turns to alchemy to produce homunculi (yes, I had to google it !). in the 16th century they believed they could create miniature human like beings called homunculi.....
Only just released in the UK, episodes 1 to 4 someone has uploaded to YouTube. Won't be long until they are taken down.
