I'm thinking of selling my 2014 D4 HSE as it's cost me about $8k in repairs in the last few months, and it's always been properly serviced.
I know that a few people here have or had Y62s - any reliability issues to report?

Just remember that if you don't want to spend money on a car in repairs, 2 wheel drives are the way to go.
I met 2 guys with late model y62's and they went on about how brilliant they were, definitely get one they said... Then followed by " but don't buy model X, oh and if you get model Y you'll need to change this and this... But with the model Z all we had to do was..... And don't forget to update....."
All 4wds cost money to keep maintained.
One that is the cheapest would be an 80 series, and they only use 15-16 litres per hundred for the diesel when not towing.. The petrols? You wouldn't want to know!
You will however save a lot of money on speeding fines!
Sorry, I have no other info, they could have been full of it..I really don't know!
I guess anyone that tries to take a petrol V8 outback as far as they did could be questioned as to sanity.... Although it was funny to watch them flying along past everyone, only to have to double back for fuel when they realised they wouldn't make it!! Ironically wasting more fuel in the process, they seemed pretty cranky about that.
