Congrats?☺☺☺
We have a 2011 Ford Ranger XLT that I would like to fit our baby capsule to on the rear seat. I can fit the base fine, but having an issue with the anchor strap due to the fixed-in-place built-in headrests on the back seat:
Basically, with the baby capsules there is a top loop tether strap that connects to a single adjustable length extension strap and then to the anchor point on the vehicle. See images below (generic from Google) with the strap on the capsule:
On the Ranger, the two anchor points are directly behind the right and left rear seats, but they are centrally inline with the fixed headrest:
I’ve attempted to run the anchor extension strap over the headrest but it easily moves to the left or right of the headrest resulting in the strap no longer being taut and if you tighten it it pulls the capsule over to that side so it’s no longer sitting straight and flat.
Anyone have a solution?
Congrats?☺☺☺
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Hi
Get a sail maker or canvas worker to make a loop strap, bringing the capsule attachment point to the center of the headrest?
Cheers
Angle grinder?
More seriously don't go over the head rests. No way that's safe. The head rests don't come off I'm assuming? What about a strap either side of the head rest?

Hi! Did you find a solution to the Ford Ranger capsule issue? We have the same ranger and want to install a capsule too but hit the same issue yesterday. Did you have an overhead anchor point installed? I was so over it yesterday I was about to buy a new car haha! We are in Hobart too! Any help would be amazing!
On our Britax seats, the top tether clip essentially slides on the webbing, adjustment is made at the Port side of the seat headrest.
So the webbing runs from starboard head of capsule , around the car headrest through the clip and back to the Port side of capsule for tightening?
Maybe you can change the webbing arrangement?
WTF Australia can’t just accept that Isofix without the top tether is more than sufficient I’ll never know?
