Very interesting. I’d buy either a Hyundai or Kia Ute straight up. You can bet that if they take the plunge it will be good, and yes, should come with a 7 year warranty like all Kias do now and what Hyundai have said they are going to (given they are basically the same company)

Yes, would need to match the current crop re towing, etc. Given that most of the dual cab 4x4’s are pretty crap off road, they wouldn’t need to go nuts to match this - 2 wheel drive with hi and low 4, that’s about it. Would be good if they released it as an all wheel drive - this is where most of the current crop fall down IMO.

Will keep an interested eye on this - Given I can’t afford a new Deefer, this May have to do. 👍

The alternative is pro'ly more like this Pallisade from Hyundai YouTube around US$ 50 000.

Looks like a No nonsense 4WD ute that will take a fair bit of abuse and still get you home again.
Fantastic value at only 27k for the base model and not a bad looking ute either
I predict that they will sell many more of these than the new defenders in Australia.

I know a guy that bought one of these - and sold it again pretty quick, and depreciation was horrid. Can see a market for them, but lack of comfort, low power, aweful build quality, lack of service and parts all come as standard with these.

An in-law of mine. I can't knock the brand after having accompanied him, with the Disco, on a few trips. Not a lot of power though and clearance can be an issue. He has now got a Ranger (his replacement one after Ford took his 1st one back. It was a lemon) as he upgraded to a larger caravan from the Jayco camper.

Some have to learn the hard way,but it was cheap
