If your going to be punting the trailer over gutters and/or around a paddock, or uneven ground, a standard 50mm, ball coupling only has around12° - 15°

Question of need, versus want.
You don't need a brake controller. It's only needed if you tow any trailer with a gross weight .. OVER ..
