Novice towing question

You seem to have the hitch receiver and 12pin socket fitted. (a 7 pin flat trailer plug fits directly to the 12pin vehicle mounted socket no prob).

FWIWurth, I have always made sure the head threads are clean, then screwed them in by hand, the torque will be shared between the stud and nut threads.
