Question of need, versus want.
You don't need a brake controller. It's only needed if you tow any trailer with a gross weight .. OVER ..
When I did mine(TD5) I used Lokseal as a very medium threadlock.
I don't know how hard or easy to remove medium strength loctites are, but I do
I spent pretty much all day on it yesterday.
Wheelbase turned out to be 2543mm RHS and 2435 LHS ... 8mm difference.

Novice towing question
If your going to be punting the trailer over gutters and/or around a paddock, or uneven ground, a standard 50mm, ball coupling only has around12° - 15°
