    DWI vs walk-in purchase

Still procrastinating on my lens upgrade Lens upgrade suggestions please but I see Photo Continental in Brisbane, who are not known for their cheap prices, are a lot closer these days.

Now ~$200 dearer than DWI on a Canon $1000 and $1600 lenses I'm considering. I think I'd probably pay that difference for an Australian warranty.

Have you asked PC to price match? They did last time I was buying.

I guess times change. Teds & Rainers were rude about it when I asked in person and offered to buy on the spot. PC did the deal over the phone (from outside Rainers) without even asking for proof of the price they were matching. I must have been buying some crap they just couldn't shift at the RRP

I've just landed a new job, so I can feel some Nikon shopping at DWI happening soon to celebrate. PC are almost 50% more expensive!

Photo Continental are good. Bought a few things through them.

I just purchase through CamerPro in Brisbane as they are a Nikon Authorised dealer, they also sell Canon. The price I got was better than DWI and it wasn't grey import either

Thanks for that Derek. They are $2500 for the D7000 with 18-200 and DWI are $2000 (approx). I'll be speaking to them when the time comes to see if they can split the difference, or do a deal on accessories to sweeten it. I'll pay a little for a real Australian warranty, but 25% is still a little steep.

Best wait until I've started the new job... And been paid.

If you are after Nikon gear you should also have a look at European Cameras in Sydney. (cameras.net.au)

I just picked up a D7000 for $1695 (Australian Stock, warranty etc) and a 17-55 F2.8 for $1000 (second hand, mint)

I have been buying from them for years, they have always been extremely helpful, have a great physical shop and ship Australia wide for a reasonable price.

DWI have the D7000 for a $1391.72, but with the D7000 being such a new camera, I figured the warranty might be of use.

Procrastination over, let the guilt begin....But who cares?

Got the Canon 24-105mm f4 L IS USM from Photo Continental this morning. $1150 vs DWI's $997 delivered. Worth paying the diff I think. They wanted a fortune for filters so I'll get them online.
