A personal opinion but....if you have cash to burn then quality wise I'd go for the 15-85mm lens, you will be using it for 90% of the time unless you like wildlife or motorsport. Also personally I hate swapping lenses all the time when travelling, so if you need the telephoto then what about the 18-200mm. Unless you are printing to A3 or bigger & you aren't selling your photos then I think this will be a good alternative, & it will save you lugging all that gear around.

Again if you can afford it, go for the L series with the Canon - EF 24-105mm f/4 IS USM Medium Telephoto.
The 70-300 could also be useful in some situations, so have it in you camera bag.

good options, i like the sound of the 24-105 as i could just use that and the 70-300 and negate the need of the kit 18-55 and 55-250

Me I use my 18-200 ( Digital ) 99% of the time. No missing shots while changing lenses. But depends on what your going to photograph

I swapped my Nikon 18-55 & 55-200 for a Tamron 18-270.
Sure, quality of images is not the same, but it's very handy when you spot a lion far away and you don't have time to swap lenses.

17-70mm would be my most used lens.
