Hi,
Looking at getting a new camera with the wife for Christmas.
Have a couple of point and shoot cameras and are looking better.
Still have an old ME Super with some KA lenses (28mm & 80-200mm) that hasn't been out of the cupboard for years and was wondering what the new Pentax's are like to live with?
Is it worth staying with Pentax just to keep using the old lenses?
Cheers,
Chris
I like my K-7 with which I use my old M42, K, and KA lenses. The KA are the easiest to use as they work in all modes with the camera except you have to manually focus. Some of that old glass is really good and still fetches a good price.
If I was buying again, I'd go a K5 for the better noise performance.
Maybe look at the K-30.
If you want a small camera that will use the KA lenses, look at the K-01 currently on sale at Ted's Camera's for $300 body only Pentax K-01 - Ted's Cameras - that's a good reduction. I didn't find out until after I bought a Pentax Q yesterday. See My new Pentax camera
See some reviews at: Pentax Forums - K-5, K-30, K-01, 645D - The Largest Pentax Camera Forum, News, and Review Site
If you move to another brand, you'll have no trouble selling the KA lenses on the Pentax forum or eBay.
