We just changed ours to Elders.

If you have accidental damage selected, anything removed from site is covered anywhere in NZ and Aus. Also anywhere else in the world as long as you are not away for more than 100 days.

They will only pay up to 5K for any one item,20k total, unless it is listed under Valuables in the policy.

We were with Suncorp for years, but Elders price was a lot better.
The other reason we changed was Suncorp would not insure some aboriginal art SWMBO has collected over the years, they were not at all interested in covering it.We had valuations, pictures of the artists, etc, etc.
Elders insured it no problems,as long as we had working dead bolts on all outside accessible windows and doors, which we had anyway.

I have my gear insured with API as special items on my contents cover.
The equipment it is itemized so I can claim for the expensive tripod or any other expensive accessories
The equipment is fully insured and in case of lost or total damage it is replaced by a new one.
I am very happy with them, they replace my D200 when I lost it over a cliff.
    I recommend them.
