GoPro

Well today, I finally go fed up with having to remove the cover to top up my GoPro, especially as I have not had time to have much of a play with it yet.

So out with the Dremel and in went an extra hole.

It’s just so much easier to top up the battery now.

I run mine on 5 minute loop pretty often then when something you want to keep happens, you just press the shutter button to save that loop.

I really want that but it must be a new feature I have a GoPro 2 and it doesnt do that.

Wife decided that we needed a gopro ( win for me :) ), so what are the must have accessories ?

I think they come in different packs. Surf pack, motorcycle pack, vehicle pack etc. I think mine was a vehicle pack so it came with the suction cup mount that's supposed to be good to 270km/h.

The only extra you really need is the one most of the discussion here has been about which is a case with a hole for the USB cable so you can charge/power it when your in the car.

A floaty back cover is handy safety thing if you use it in a location that you could loose it under water like a creek or the beach. I never worry in the pool.

Ours isnt in a pack and when i opened it up for look i was surprised at how little you get in the box, acc. are cheap enough off ebay though.

Essentials are suction cup, handle bar mount, and some of those adhesive mounts, the curved ones are good as a helmet mount, I've got a chest mount, but only used it once, just to see how it was, didn't really like it, gets in the way.

If you use the suction mount on the front windscreen, to mount it so it's not really close to the windscreen and it can't be angled enough to either keep the suction cup out of screen or you angle it down enough, it has the ability to be mounted upside down, go into the menu, you can set it up to video upside down:D

Also don't use the suction cup on the outside on rough tracks, found that out the hard way.

I used a flat adhesive mount on the inside of the windscreen as I can almost have the camera hidden behind the rear view mirror. I just found the suction cup mount was too big and bulky and obscured either mine or my wife's vision.

Just watch the USB connection though as the first time I mounted it, I couldn't connect the USB cable as it was too close to the mirror mount. Those adhesive pads aren't designed to be removed.
