G'day all.

I found this really cool sun position calculator site that may be handy for giving you an idea where the sun will be when you want shoot landscapes. It allows you to put in any date so you can even plan your trips.

For example, yesterday was the 'Melbourne Henge'. This is when the sun sets between the buildings. For no reason what so ever I assumed the sun would follow an arc over the streets. When I got there, the sun was hiding behind the buildins and I thought I'd got it wrong some how. At the last minute, the sun swung sideways from the north and appeared at the end of Latrobe St. Using the SunCalc page, it was actually really obvious what was happening. Moving the slider across the top of the page, it shows the real arc of the sun travelling across the sky.
