Snapped this sugarcane fire driving back to Bargara. Not a great pic, but real.

I didn't think they burned sugar cane any more seeing it is mechanised harvesting.
Snapped on a recent tour of Yorkshire (UK) area.

That plane doesn't look right. The engine is all wrong. I have a photo I took of Hinkler's plane at the Qld Museum in about 1968. I'm sure the engine is different. I'll hunt the slide out.
EDIT: Aha! It's not the plane he flew from the UK, it's one he flew from Sydney to Bundy.

The first picture is of his Avro Baby, with a watercooled Green engine. The other is his Avro Avian, with an aircooled ADC Cirrus engine. The Cirrus engine used parts from a WW1 Renault V8 engine to build a four cylinder engine, and was effectively an ancestor of the DH Gipsy (DH Moth) and Gipsy Major (DH Tiger Moth, DHC Chipmunk, DHA Drover and many others) engines, and through them, of the Gipsy Six (DH Dragon Rapide, DH86, Dove, etc) and Gipsy Twelve (DH Albatross).
