The pen will work as a mouse does. So if you wanted to you could use it as the mouse for Word etc. It will basically work with any graphics app though and also with the tablet software in Windows Vista.

Hi Dullbird,
Happy Birthday for starters!
You can use your wacom for just about anything as it works exaclty like a mouse. Photoshop or any other such program is what you would mainly use it for. You can use it in any drawing program, but as I said it should work with anything as it operates just like a mouse. I have found that a mouse is generally a little easier to use in some cases eg: when you need to click a specific pixel or a particular point in illustrator. The wacom comes to the fore when you need to do something that requires a drawing or airbrush like action.
Have fun, and if you need any help let me know I might be able to offer some assistance but they are pretty straight forward.
Cheers
Josh
ok So I had a play with the tablet.......IT IS VERY HARD TO DRAW WITH...
I sort of expected for it to be like this....as a drawer you are constantly shifting bwteen the paper and the object sometimes moving the pencil while observing it and sometimes not! so drawing on a tablet is a bit more tricky
I had a go at drawing something.......So as you are all aware it is my first time so go easy:lol2:
I can assure you if I was drawing it with a pencil and paper it would be a lot more acurate :)

Go Easy she says:eek:
I wish I could draw that badly!!!!!!!
I've found that one of the things is to swap to a different pen nib as they have different feel to them and some are more pencil like etc.
yeah I couldn't find my instructions to change the nib I actually wanted to do that.....I have found them now but not much use now I finished it :lol2:
any how derek you might be able to help me these pens are pressure sentive as well right...but I found when starting to put a bit of pressure on a smal peice that I wanted to sketch in it would load up the brush size menu all the time its really iritating....any ideas how to stop that happening?
It shouldn't load up the brush menu. I'm not sure why the menu would come up. Two things to check:
1. You're not clicking the button on the pen
2. The settings in the control panel for the tablet
To change the pen unscrew the collar and use a pair of tweezers to pull the nib out and then slide the new one in and screw the collar back on.
Very nice illustration Lou.
