JPEG is all 8-bit (before anyone jumps on this there are 16 bit variants but they are hardly common)
RAW, TIFF are 16-bit (actually RAW is 12 or 14 bit - depending on camera - but PS will handle it as 16 bit)
PSD is 8 to 16 bit
HDR can go to 32 bit and so can TIFF
For what you are doing if it's all for JPEGS then the 8 bit is fine. If you are going to save to 16 bit PSD from a RAW (NEF) file then you'll need the 16 bit version.
The plug-ins for Light Room are really making me rethink keeping with Aperture. But the work flow in Aperture is so nice... Why isn't there just one product the does everything:confused:

Inside I have it all loaded into light room now all the relevant things I need to do it...but how and where do I do the watermark? do you have any idea what it needs to be saved as? I tried to do one in PS but as soon as it was added to the pic no matter how I tried to make it transparent it came up as a white square on the bottom corner of my picture rather than just the signature.

I use PSCS3 and tu place my signature i select the font and then press Alt and then the key 0 1 6 9 for the simbol and after type my name
Alt 0169 is the default code in Windows ©

Woooo hoooo I have done it......and I haven't just done it, because of the various plug-ins available once I finished altering my picture I can send it straight to photobucket and when it does it it automatically adds my signature....thanks inside!! how cool is that :)
