Why not flash powder?

I used to think it was great stuff. You could buy cloth bags of flash powder from the old Camco store in the Haymarket end of Pitt St. Good for parties. Place a modest amount into an ash tray and wait for the fun.

And probably safer, than a length of magnesium ribbon around the two pins on a 240v plug, and then waiting for someone to turn it on
