It's interesting to read back over an old thread.
My 60Lt Stainless Primus still lives in the back of my 101 Landrover permanently.
It's exposed to moisture, dirt and dust.
It runs when ever the vehicle does.
It's running perfectly in 2023.
It is not strapped down correctly.......just a couple of octopus straps......it can jump around.
I have had to replaced two out of 3 lid hinges which I was able to purchase from the place of purchase.
So that's been the only trouble in 13 years.
It seems I may have to check the mesh in front of the condenser.

FWIW,recently sold my 36yr old Engle,as the compressor got noisy and kept us awake at night.
Just one coat of paint to slow the rust, all the rest of it is original.

Yes the early Engals are a good piece of gear.
There's about a 30 Lt one from the early 1970s still going strong in my family.
Steel case and very little in the way of electronics to go wrong...........also the condenser is a big course tube thing which also cannot go wrong.
