Can comment on the one in your post. However, I am thinking about one of the star Awnings:

Has anyone tried one of these Pitstop Car Awnings? Ray's Outdoors has them on special for $50. See Pitstop car awning - Rays Outdoors

No experience with the Pitstop... but saw a Coleman Event 14 in action up at Undara during some inclement weather. Seriously thinking of getting one. A couple had it pitched over the top of a tear drop camper...like a garage. Very cosy. Being 8' almost at the apex, it funnelled the hot air out the vent really well. would leave room for the P38 to fully open tailgate...

Are BCF, Rays and Supercheap all part of the one empire now?
Make sure you have a real good look at it ... the design puts a significant load moment on the point supporting the main hinge esp in windy conditions. It's one of the reasons I decided against it...even took a trip to Ballina factory to check it out fully. Not knocking their product by any means, it was just one of the factors that I ultimately decided to look at other solutions.
I have one.On the open edge I sewed some velcro on the underside.Have a matching size section also with velcro and sail track attached.Slide this section into sail track on vehicle-erect tent and attach to vehicle via the velcro sections.Sort of like how you attach an oztent to a vehicle.Gives a weather proof seal .have not used in extreme conditions yet.But I think they are good value at $50.
Cheers,
Mary
