franz is a wealth of knowledge

i don't recall any particular instructions for the rain

like franz has indicated the poles can be lowered which would create run off no difference to my old awning

i mounted mine with brackets facing up to give max height. i also reckon i will only need the one rope to keep everything tight

if you are fitting a supa-wing to a wind cheetah roof rack than this is what i did as the mounting sent with the awaning is of no use

the plate in the pic look a little rough, thats because it was guess work as i forgot to measure the bracket before leaving for work

2 x 40mm x 120mm x 3mm aluminium
4 x 8mm x 25mm bolts with nyloc nuts

I mounted the bracket pointing up to give me max height

i have email supa-peg with the suggestion of suppling a kit for wind cheetah roof racks

Hi Kel,
I note that you use (not surprisingly) two brackets. I also note that you only specify four bolts/nuts. Is this because the other four bolts/nuts come with the awning?

hi peter

the awning came with four bolts already in place to suit the bracket that you can slide along as required. i guess they put these in because canvas is fixed to each end

they also provided another frour bolts with captive type nuts to suit rola racks? maybe, i think they must somehow slide into the rack, i do recall the instructions mentioning the need to cut rubber inserts. these bolts were too short to use on the wind cheetah rack as they were only 15mm long therefore i had to buy 4 x 8mm x 25mm bolts and nuts due to the spacer that i made up.

This is how I mounted my wing on the cross bars. What's good with the way you mounted yours is that if the nuts did work themselves loose, they would not be able to drop off and thereby also prevent the awning from falling off. Should not happen, but our corrugated tracks have destroyed & loosened many things!

Peter, the captive nuts supplied with the mounting kit slide into the channel of Rhino & Rolla roof bars. The instructions say that you need to cut a piece of the rubber infill strip to accomodate the bracket.

i will probably change the nuts on the awning to nyloc as well.......

That is a great looking awning, looks a bit easier to set up and put away than the Foxwing, have you had a chance to use it yet Kelvin??

used it for the first time at the defender day out


it's pretty straight forward to put up, one rope and peg is required, i also put one peg in the base of each pole but probably was not needed as there was no wind about

will now mark the poles to a preset height which will help slightly

it is definitely very rigid once set up

mine arrived yesterday...hoping I can get time off chores to mount it tomorrow.
