Has anyone installed a Family Hannibal tent on a Discovery 3 / 4? Which roof rack you use?
I've got a KK MYCUBE which I mounted on a trailer and really wished I had brought something else, reasons
1-too long/hard to set up, need to start going to gym.
2-can not leave bedding in it as it will not close
3-hard to close
4-when raining it fills up with water, need to leave hatch open to let water out otherwise you have your own foot bath in it.
5-leaks with covered up, getting sick of having wet mattress to sleep on
6-over priced with poor back up service.
7-would like to sell but couldn't do it to someone, maybe the kids will like it for a cubby house.
Might just go back to a tent.

My "Rooftop Tent" is up for grabs in the markets section
Surplus to requirements and only used twice, just had a mishap with the cover hence the price![]()
This is our second Shippshape, we sold the 1st when we thought we needed a camper instead, the biggest problem with a RRT is getting in after being a bit too social around the camp fire.
Why we like the Shippshape
1. no need to store bedding inside the Rangie
2. bedding stays dry (put the pillows in the middle lengthways to shed water, if a puddle of water sits there long enough you will get a wet bed)
3. really cumfortable mattress (both of us have back problems)
4. we can tow our Macgregor 26X "Imagine", if we want to go exploring we can leave the boat on it's trailer in lockup and go off with the Shippie
5. if we want to stay somewhere for an extended period we can put Shippie on a frame on a trailer.

I would recommend the EZY-AWN. I have had mine for years. The build quality is solid as are the materials. I just had it fitted to our new Ford Ranger
Closes fine with bedding inside and we can be up and in within 5 minutes of arriving at a camp.
Why a roof tent ? We have horses so its also handy to be able to turn up , set up the tent , then unload the horses and the leave the float hooked up. So for us - it was not really an option to tow a camper trailer (and if you have ever slept in a horse float after horses have been in it for 6 hours....).
