    Shock! Horror! Engel problem

My 10 year old Engel sits off at home when not in the car travelling.

For quite a while I have noticed when on that it is getting noisier.
Fired it up last weekend for grog for family function and noticed it seemed quieter again.
Always suspicious of such things, I got out my trusty dork torch and looked through the cooling grills to see that the fan is no longer fanning.

So I rang Engel who didn't want to know me , but then got onto Engeland in WA who sent me a new fan in 2days for $68.
So if you have a MRFT 540E ie the first 134A model with "turbo fan" ( or suchlike as I have now covered it with Engeland's contact details sticker) printed near the thermostat , just check to see if your fan still goes.

I don't know whether it is a problem that would destroy the fridge but in hot weather it would not cool as well and the compressor would run at a higher pressure and maybe shorten its life. ALL because the feds wanted to be world leaders and ban the old R12etc gasses.
Easy fix with just lots of PH screws to undo and redo.
    Regards Philip A

My 240V power clapped out. Local Engel dealer wanted >$450 IIRC to fix it.

Be a bit cheaper for me just to get a transformer and run it on 12V at home.....
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Give Engeland a call as the part may not be that expensive and nearly everything including compressor replacement is plug and play.
BTW, you have checked the fuse I hope.
