A bloke in the NSW Range Rover Club had one explode.

It was that he had not flipped over the hob. IMHO this is the most common cause.

NEXT the authorities will demand an anti hob upside down valve and it will coist $50 instead of 20. There are some people that you cannot protect from their own actions.

They already have a locking mechanism so you can't engage the can if you don't turn over or at least remove the top.
If you push on the lever hard enough though you can override it of course.

As long as there used properly there safer than alot of other stoves out there.
Plus the spare cans are funny as in the fire about 50m away.
Been using one now for 13yrs and the only issue I have had is when it is cold.

I hadn't thought about the issue of using a bigger frypan than the stove diameter.

Who keeps receipts for this type of stove?

I guess I'll have to toss them out when I run out of gas - although I saw lots of butane containers at Bunnings yesterday.
