    Foxwing and Supa-Peg Awnings

I am considering an Oztent FoxWing awning or a Supa-Peg equivalent (see SUPAPEG Australia - Quality Camping & Outdoor Supplies). Any one have any knowledge or experiece with, one of the Supa-Peg awnings?

    Cheers

Yeah, I have the supra peg one, I think it is of better quality than the fox wing, iirc its made here, unlike fox wing which is made in china. My parents used to install them on there caravans they made, they said the supapeg is a better unit but was more costly, they got pretty special pricing from oztent so mainly used there products.

    Karl,
Supapeg do club pricing, so let me know if you are interested and I'll see what I can get for you.

I have a Foxwing and I am extremely happy with it, no experience with Supapeg.

I have a supa wing......I reckon it's the ducks guts, yes more $$ than the fox but it also covers more area. Every square inch counts when the weather is bad and there is five seeking shelter

Either one does a good job.......you probably see more foxes around as they are cheaper

The major differences between the two are:

    * Canvas quality (Supa-Peg use 11oz Australian made canvas) stand under each awning on a hot and sunny day and you'll see the difference.

    * Coverage - the Supa-Wing has greater coverage giving you more under roof space but does take a little longer to set up.

    * Aluminium poles and twist lock mechanisms are much better on the Supa-Wing.

    * Supa-Wing needs no ropes on the poles - only two straps at either end.

You're paying more for a better quality product but supporting Australian manufacturing. Parts are easier to get and being locally made, they'll make it to any size or configuration you want - there's only one style of Foxwing.

Is super wing a different awning to super peg, or was it a typo?

I see from a link in another thread, that eezi-awn (from memory) have a similar type, interesting awning that looks like the poles fold down from where they are stored in each cantilever arm.

    Edit;

Supa-Peg are the manufactures of two styles of 'batwing' awnings: Rapid-Wing and Supa-Wing (which comes in 4 different sizes) (see http://www.supapeg.com.au). Supa-Peg's on-line store uses the name Supa-RV Australia (see http://www.suparvaustralia.com.au/).

The eezi-awn 'bats' seem more oriented to the provision of shade rather than foul weather protection. I don't think theeezi-awn 'bats' are imported into Australia (by Dolium) from South Africa where they are made. If they were I would look more closely, as Dolium imported stuff is usually very good.

These look very strong, but not cheap.
