Baz, none of us noticed them (signs) on the Thursday, but were there on the Friday, Regards Frank.
Interestingly the regulation (National Parks and Wildlife (Land Management) Regulation 1995) that specifically prohibited chainsaws in NPs was repealed in 2002, buggered if I can find any mention of chainsaws in the current regs or act. I might have to ask where the prohibition comes from.

I just take a small chainsaw one place I go you can set your watch by the parks blokes comeing and going so after 5pm its pretty safe to get he saw out. And Really not taking a saw in the mountains is just silly
I ave no issue taking wood with me. though having a chainsaw would be handy for trees over tracks. . .
Indeed. Chainsaws come in very handy clearing tracks and if 'they' had any sense the government would not prevent people from carrying saws for that purpose,
Makes firefighting easier too...
Fine people for illegally cutting firewood, sure, but not for having a chainsaw in their possession !
I fired an email off to parks to get them to get there position clarified no reply in a week
