Last long weekend down at Bendethra I noticed new signs prohibiting the use of chainsaws in the National Park (Duea) with a fine of $3300 (woo), wondering if it applies to all NPWS Parks, Regards Frank.

Could be for legal reasons, or just a friendly reminder

Interestingly the regulation (National Parks and Wildlife (Land Management) Regulation 1995) that specifically prohibited chainsaws in NPs was repealed in 2002, buggered if I can find any mention of chainsaws in the current regs or act. I might have to ask where the prohibition comes from.

I ave no issue taking wood with me. though having a chainsaw would be handy for trees over tracks. . .

Indeed. Chainsaws come in very handy clearing tracks and if 'they' had any sense the government would not prevent people from carrying saws for that purpose,
    Makes firefighting easier too...

Fine people for illegally cutting firewood, sure, but not for having a chainsaw in their possession !
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
