Looked at plenty on the net.I looked at one of these the other day in Rays Outdoors,great quality and several options on how its set up.I think it ticks all the boxes for me,and its actually a WA product:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:
Anybody else got one????

G'day all, I currently have a basic style swag which has served me well for the last 24 years and I guess I have spent the best part of a year in it over that time. I am getting soft in my old age and over the last 5 years I usually use it on top of a fairly deluxe stretcher so with the swag & stretcher combined it is quite bulky in the vehicle.
I like the look of some of the newer dome type swags such as the ARB sky dome but am still reading some negative reports regarding them leaking which is a shame as they look like a quality product.
The other swag which is not cheap but along with the ARB is on my short list is the Southern Cross dome swag. The price is not a real issue as if I can get another 24 years out of my old swag I guess I can do the same with the next so the price per year of ownership is minimal if it is a good quality product which lasts & wears well.

Is anyone here is using a Southern Cross or travelled with someone using one and could give some feedback it would be appreciated.
Ive got a Swag and swear by it, you must get a tarp for underneath it once you have rolled it out, l also have got a Thick Mattress and also just purchased an oz tent self inflated mattress which i put onto of the Mattress and if it is very cold i put underneath the mattress a thermal blanket to stop the moisture coming through, l would also recommend the Mosquito Mesh it is a must and if you really want you could also put a tarp on top of your swag:p:p:p:p:p:p
Would go a Southern Cross over the Arb ,
SC canvas work is beautiful and they use the best quality canvas . Dynaproofed Waxcon all Aussie made .
Have just returned from albury show and the rain on their display swags was on the outside only ....
They were doing show deals ?
A centre pole tourer tent may also be an option , won't be much more dollars .
We have a Southern Cross King Dome swag. Chalk and cheese comparing it with the ARB (or Roo Systems or any of the other cheaper ones). The Southern Cross is a very solid bit of kit - much heavier canvas than just about any others I've seen.Quote:

Have been using swags for a few years now. They're my preferred choice for touring/overnighting. Have a canvas touring tent if we're staying for 3 or more nights.
My brother has the AOS double width tracker - has found it a bit low and the canvas rests on your hip if you're lying on your side. Probably only an issue if using down sleeping bags as the down compresses and you get a cold spot. Other than that, they're very well built.
I've set my family up with three swags: a single each for the kids and a double for the missus and I. We take a quick-fold toilet tent for a change room.
One of our swags is Mr Swagman brand, the other two are Ultima. I like them both but the design of the Ultima (Ultima model) works best for me: keeps bugs off and allows ventilation if it's warm. The 'Deluxe' style Mr Swagman is my favourite for winter or tossing on a floor/indoors as it sets up quicker, can be opened completely and has minimal airspace without squishing my sleeping bag. Build quality of both brands is first rate and neither is cheap but you do get what you pay for.
I like quick setup and packup and have gone with 7cm thick foam mattresses as I hate squishing the air out of inflatable mattresses. I don't mind them for hiking but not car camping/touring: I have the space and comfort/ease is king.

Has anyone tried the Kulkyne / Drifters Creek Homestead swag.
I've just ordered one - the fact that it's up off the ground sounds good to me. The sleeping bag arrangement with different thickness configurations for various temperatures sounds good too.
When camping with SWMBO, we use the Southern Cross double dome swag, but when it's just me camping out alone, that thing's a bit too big to be lugging around, so have been thinking of getting a decent single swag for myself for a while now. Hopefully this one will be as good as they say it is. :D

And it even comes with what looks like decent carry bags. You can use the swag alone without the bed base if you want to, but I think you would probably need to throw in a thicker mattress for that.
