P.S. I forgot to mention - it is heavy so you may need a couple of Bulgarian weightlifters to help you get it on and off ... I rigged up a simple pulley system in my garage to make the job quick and easy.
    cheers

P.P.S. - there is a new optional thicker mattress... we went for that and once again can't fault it. plus we got ours with the jumbo fly when we bought it - not sure about adding it later or not ( I've never bothered to check if it's "removable") - I'm sure a quick call to their distributor would clear this up for you.

    cheers

Many thanks Old Salt, sound advice. This is a hobby/ passion for me as I plan on spending lotsa time in the car seeing Outback Oz.a Been using an Oz tent RV3 up to now which has been brilliant but for an over night stop the quicker set up time and comfy mattress is very appealing. Dead right with the pulley system, easy fix

Well after having the flip over style RTT for 3-4 yrs (ARB Simpson 2), I have gone the James Baroud. It doesn't have the canopy protecting the entrance but after having both, I can live without it. I found if your staying put & want to go for a drive, it's a PITA to pack up all the time. After using the JB for 10 nights in Jan, it's a breeze to set up (20 seconds) and pack up (1-2mins). You can store bedding and pillows easily whilst packed up. It has a silent solar powered fan, fully lined so no condensation dripping from the interior poles, LED rechargeable torch and a storage net attached to the roof for clothes. An 8cm thick mattress helps too. I'm sure the Hannibal mattress would be better than the ARB anyway.

We went to the Melbourne 4x4 show many years ago and thankfully it was raining so we could see all the roof top tents out in the elements..the Hannibal was the only one that was not leaking...that was all we needed to decide on buying one..We have taken it from NZ to Oz twice now, been to Cape York and are currently driving around Oz...although we got the annex when we bought it we have left it at home in NZ and if the weather looks really threatening we will find a b&b or something to stay in...we never used the annex on our first trip.

Service from Peter is great ...couldn't recommend them any higher

Many thanks Dave, Graham & Trish, will check out
Your tent Dave as I hadn't heard of them until now.
Like the idea of a 3 min pack up but no leaks is equally
    Appealing.

Yes they are good. With the pic of it set up, that was the end of the day when it rained for a solid 8 hours and not a drop inside.
