I can probably share more after this weekend as we have also looked at a Stargazer, but have decided the cost is just too high. So we're going to check out the quality of the Sahara one and if it looks good, hopefully have one ready for use by 28th Nov.
I,ve got a Howling Moon tent that,s over ten years old and I had abigger one on my trailer for about three years, both have given excellent service. Ihad mine fixed to open over the bonnnet with a cable to prevent the ladder scratching anything and a bracket in the bullber for the ladder. That way we could climb up the
back of the landy onto the roofrack and have a 'patio' to change on and store our clothes box. We even had a camping chair up there once
They may be good but I cannot understand how they can be SO expensive compared with a similar or larger ground tent.
Probably more expensive due to smaller market, less volume, competition.
But, how do you older folk cope with climbing ladders and general assembly tasks.
With my knees and aversion to heights, i could see the midnight piddle could be a real pain. Or do i run a hose into the Cruiser parked next door . :p
Clambering over the bonnet would seem an option for me.

My wife and I were part of. 6 car group of friends who enjoyed a great trip to Cape York and back from Brisbane last June.
3 vehicles had RTT, one had an Oz Tent, one had a cheaper Oz tent clone and we had a safari style tent we picked up from Anaconda just before the trip.
We had a great trip, with only a little drizzle up at Seisia where we stayed for a couple of days before heading south.
Our observations were:
The Oz tent was quickest to set up followed by ours then the oz- clone and RTT.
Those of us without RTT became the taxi/ pick up trucks for everyone else as ones the RTT was up, that was it.
All the RTT went onto eBAy or Gumtree on return. We approached a camping store and made a bulk (5) order for Oz tents and got a healthy discount off the RRP.
The issues with the RTT were:
Everyone got a bit over the ladder
The night time trip to the loo ( as reported above) was a hassle
One kid fell down the ladder ( slipped on a dewy rung)
Having said that, another mate just completed a big trip through the desert country and swore by his RTT.
It depends on the type of trip you're doing. If you expect to be on the move most days, they probably suit. If you're staying in the same location for more than a couple of days, they can be a problem if you want to use the car.
When I do a trip if it is base camping I leave the RTT at home.Quote:

When traveling with RTT I have so much more room in the car as I do not have mattresses and bedding in the car
