    Awnings for L320

What sort of awnings are folks using on their RRS? Are the foxwing awnings any good on a RRS? I presume the tailgate gets in the way.

I use standard awning on rhino racks. Fox wings are out unless you have electric tailgate and stop it part way

It's even worse than that. I've checked out the position of the rear spoiler on the tailgate of my car. It would interfere with any fox wing awning, at all but the lowest opening levels, rendering it useless.

    Dome awnings?

Rhino rack have dome awning that might be able to clear the rear tailgate.

I went with an ARB 2.0 m long side-awning, that comes out 2.5 m from the car. ARB don't recommend the awning to protrude unsupported more than 0.75 m, fore or aft of the roof bars, and because my bars are 1.0 m apart, that precluded a 2.5 m long awning. While I generally favour more shelter, a longer awning would also have meant a greater chance of entanglement in the bush.

Been good so far on frosty nights.

My awning - is an Aldi version - is cheap but works OK and seems to be of similar quality as most of the others - except the extendable vertical poles cannot adequately lock so collapse - a small jubilee clip on each sorts this out.
