I have No experience with these But anything has to be better than the daily run to the "Dump Point" with little miss stinky box in hand, Looking at this thread with interest
So, thinking of ditching the chemical loo and going to a composting unit - everyone I’ve spoken to that has one thinks they are great so asking here about those with experience with them what brand, model etc they might recommend. Doing some homework on this but thought I’d ask the Brains trust here for advice too.
There was a thread I think running on this many moons ago, but couldn’t find it to resurrect it sorry.
TIA.

There are quite a few good reviews on youtube from long term users including some that live in their RV’s, Tiny Homes, etc full time and everyone I’ve found has great reviews as the biggest ‘ick’ with chen toilets is completely removed. No smell, and no chemicals. Apparently emptying the liquid waste bottle (urine) is the worst part, the rest is easy. Just trying to find out if anyone here as a particular brand they have and any comments on it.

have a solar panel and a small battery running the fan on the vent and yet to have any odour issues.
only minor negative is emptying the solids when you fill it....
way better than a chemical loo imho

I am just about to start building a tiny house and will be going with a composting toilet. Interested to see people's opinions.
That’s one in the units on my short list and I think they’ll be at the caravan and camping show this week. From what i can see and work out this unit doesn’t have a seperate bucket you remove so the whole unit comes apart - is this a major issue or does it all come apart to empty and clean easily? How heavy and awkward is it to move/empty/clean?
Thanks.

Friends had one on an isolated rural property and were very happy with it. No smell and they used the fertiliser on the property.
Some types use water while others are totally dry.
The Chinese have been doing this for a very long time.
After many years of looking at waterless toilets I eventually found the Enviropro Range. These Excolet has a urine tube at the bottom which removes the bulk of the waste and reduces the smell and need for the toilet to be emptied often.
I installed one at the farm and it seems to be working fine and no problems encountered.

Well I bit the bullet and bought a Natures Head unit today from the importer at the Melbourne Caravan and Camping show - saved to cost of freight ($80 from Coffs Harbour to Melbourne) and around $50 off their website price as a ‘show special’ so happy enough with that. Appreciate everyone’s input on this. Looking forward to not having to empty a chemical toilet in the future.
